Arctic Intimacy
Kachemak Bay, Alaska
A two-person elopement carried by floatplane across Kachemak Bay. Vows exchanged on a remote shoreline, the engine cooling on the water behind them.
They wanted no audience but the bay. We chartered a 1956 de Havilland Beaver, landed in a cove with no name, and spent the afternoon walking the tideline.
The weather turned, as it always does. They wrapped themselves in wool, read their vows from a single folded card, and were married inside the cabin of the plane.
Some weddings are loud and full. This one was quiet, and complete.
